Reposting since, according to FrequentMiler, this offer is back! This is an awesome deal and I saved a ton using it last time around.
A new Amex Offer is out for Shipt, a grocery delivery service. With this Shipt Amex Offer you spend $100 and get $50 back, which is very lucrative! This Amex offer was found on 3 out of 5 of my Amex cards. So pretty widely targeted as well! If you would like to sign up for Shipt you can use my referral link to get $10 off on your first purchase (will give me $10 off my next purchase as well!).
If you’re not familiar with AmEx Offers: these are very lucrative offers that come with the majority of American Express cards for either money savings or bonus American Express points. For a complete guide to AmEx Offers I would suggest checking out Frequent Miler’s excellent guide for how to maximize the offers.
Shipt Amex Offer Details
The Shipt Amex Offer is very simple and straightforward. Simply spend $100+ in one transaction and you will get $50 back. Although as I explain below, signing up for Shipt and redeeming does require a few steps.
Shipt Amex Offer: What is Shipt?
More importantly, what is Shipt? I was not familiar with Shipt so did some research and went through the process to sign up as well. This is the biggest piece that will determine whether this Shipt Amex Offer is right for you.
Shipt is a grocery delivery service that has a different spin on traditional delivery services. Shipt is a membership based service that costs either $14/month or $99/year. You get same day delivery, free delivery on order of $35+, and “all grocery items are available (40,000 items!)”. Right now they are offering a free 2 week trial. Note your annual fee will be automatically charged if you do not cancel within 2 weeks.
Signing up for Shipt and ordering groceries
I went ahead and signed up, provided my credit card info, and entered my address to find my local store. One small issue is that only one grocery store popped up as I began my shopping. It actually is my local grocery store but having more options would certainly be helpful. There were also tons of promotions, like coupons, that were very helpful to have on this first page as I began my shopping.
After reviewing the promotions I selected “shop by category” in the upper left hand corner to dive into the options a little deeper. What I found is a VERY thorough list of items. Items were divided up well by category and sub category and it was very simple to find what I needed.
All that being said, I found a lot of the prices higher than my actual grocery store. Certainly not on every item, and there were plenty of sales/promotions different than my grocery store, but something to keep in mind.
It was very convenient however, so the slight surcharge on some items may be worth it to you if you hate grocery shopping. I did not finish my order as I am out of town for the weekend but will update this post on the actual delivery service and how it went.
This Shipt Amex Offer is a no brainer to save $50 on $100+ grocery order. Just remember to cancel your 2 week trial before being charged the annual fee! Shipt seems quite useful for those who don’t like grocery shopping or have transportation challenges. I personally enjoy grocery shopping (odd I know) so I’m not sure if Shipt is a long term fit but I certainly will take advantage of my 3 Amex Offers to save $150!
Remember you can use this link to save $10 off your first order (this is my referral link, so I get $10 too!).
