Roundup: Ongoing Avios on American Issues, JetBlue Award Chart to Hawaii, New American Routes to Avoid, and more!

With the holidays it can be pretty slow out there in the points and miles world. Especially since this is a prime time to be enjoying some points redemptions with sky high hotel and flight prices! But there are a few things going on around the web to pay attention to…

I wrote recently about not being able to select a seat on my American flight using Avios. This Flyertalk poster had the same issue. Although there is no evidence at the moment that American is treating Avios bookings as basic economy, it does appear that not being able to select seats, even with your American frequent flyer number and status, was not an isolated incident for me.

JetBlue now has an award chart for redeeming TrueBlue points on Hawaiian Airlines! This is a departure from the past when pricing was based on the price of the ticket. Some value can be found at peak times here but run the numbers.

That’s it for today. Enjoy this slower holiday week but remember to keep an eye out for some inevitable deals that will pop up this week!

    1. Hi Ramsey – sorry you feel that way. As mentioned at the top of this post the holidays are slow so we just wanted to keep folks up to date on any major news items. Typically we do have original posts up 5-6 days a week with 1-2 roundups of interesting news from other websites as well.
