After walking about 50 yards out of the Serenediva Transit Hotel we came to the Serendib Lounge entrance in the small Colombo airport.

We were quickly admitted to the smaller than anticipated lounge after showing our boarding passes and lounge passes to the agents.

Review: SriLankan Serendib Lounge Colombo

For being SriLankan’s main lounge it was surprising the lounge was relatively small with just one regular seating area, and a group of dining seats that made me think SriLankan may have picked up a variety of used furniture at a going out of business sale. The design was pretty nonexistent and everything was just a little too dingy and felt a little too old.

The buffet had a mix of SriLankan and Western options and was perfectly fine for what it was. Not pictured is an espresso/coffee machine which consistently had 4-5 people in line for it, and some dry cereal and fruit.

There also was a bar that was not staffed due to it being 6:30 in the morning. But it looked like it had some decent enough options:

Final Thoughts

The Serendib Lounge in Colombo is perfectly fine. The furniture was tired and the design underwhelming. The food and drink selections were decent and edible. So overall it is not somewhere I would spend much time, but also not somewhere that I wouldn’t return to. We quickly decided to only grab a quick bite and then wandered around the small airport looking through the shops to kill time before heading to our gate.
