The Star Alliance Business Class Lounge at LAX is located on the third floor of TBIT next to the Star Alliance First Class Lounge. After departing the First Class lounge to find somewhere a little less isolated we went directly to the business class lounge through the connecting door.
Star Alliance Business Class Lounge LAX
The Business Class Lounge at LAX allows entry both with Star Alliance Gold status and flying business class so can get very crowded. With our 12:20am departure we had less concerns with crowding as we had one of the last flights of the evening.
Upon entering we found various plenty of seating areas, a buffet, and self-serve drinks. The seating spanned dining tables, bar seating, a “patio” area open to the terminal, regular lounge seating, a media room, and best of all, a true outdoor terrace.
Star Alliance Business Class Lounge LAX Outdoor Terrace
After looking around the different areas briefly we found the selections solid, especially for a lounge that grants access to such a large number of people. I especially appreciated their beer selection with craft beer options such as Stone IPA.
What we really wanted to check out was the outdoor terrace however. And man, was it awesome! The entrance is somewhat obscured through the back of the lounge, especially at night, so there was only a few other people there.
The terrace not only had super comfortable couches and chairs but it was a beautiful night in Los Angeles with temperatures in the low 70’s. Perfect for enjoying a few of those craft beers and relaxing outside of the hectic LAX TBIT terminal. We actually just stretched out and spent a couple hours out there. We only returned inside to grab another beer once or twice.
LAX Star Alliance Business Class Lounge Bottom Line
This is a tastefully decorated lounge and a good place to relax (if not overcrowded). But the real winner here is the outdoor patio when the weather is nice. If spending countless hours in airports and on planes there is nothing better than being able to get a little fresh air. Of course we could hear jets taking on and off but it didn’t disturb us one bit.
