Travel Roundup: Qatar Flight Issues, Wyndham/Caesar’s, and more!

Welcome to the One Stop Travel Roundup from Points, Miles, and More. Your briefing on important happenings in the world of travel, airline miles, hotel points and more.

1. Four major Middle Eastern countries have cut diplomatic ties with the country of Qatar. Beyond the diplomatic issues this also will present a huge issue if you happen to be flying Qatar Airways. All of these countries are not allowing any Qatar Airways flights to their home airport or flying through their airspace. One Mile at a Time has a primer on what to do if you are flying Qatar Airways soon.

2. Wyndham Rewards and Caesar’s have teamed up to offer you more options to use points and your hotel status in Las Vegas. This partnership was developed after the Starwood and Caesar’s partnership ended suddenly in late 2016. This additional partnership is nice but the Hyatt Mlife partnership is still the best option when heading to Las Vegas.

3. The AAdvantage Shopping portal is offering a “mystery bonus” that will give you bonus miles. The bonus will depend on what amount you are targeted for. I personally was targeted for 2,000 additional miles if I make $500 in purchases.

4. In today’s flight deal of the day, fly from Baltimore to beautiful San Diego starting at $278.
