Review of the Week: A 2.5% USAA Cash Back Credit Card!

Here at Points, Miles, and More this is our weekly random review of the week. It may be credit cards, checking account sign-up bonuses, miscellaneous surprising roadside motels, or anything else that catches our eye. This week we have an awesome 2.5% USAA cash back credit card.

Limitless™ Cashback Rewards Visa Signature® Card

While looking into if I’m eligible for USAA membership (sadly I am not despite both my grandfather’s having served in the military), I naturally clicked their credit cards page and first saw this:

2.5% USAA cash back credit card Limitless Cashback Rewards Visa Signature Card
2.5% USAA cash back credit card if you have $1,000 direct deposited into a USAA checking account monthly!

This offer obviously is not for everyone due to needing to be a USAA member but there are some exciting key components here if you can qualify:

  • $0 annual fee
  • 2.5% cash back on almost any type of purchase
  • No foreign transaction fees

It’s important to note that the following transactions will not give you cash back, most of which are obvious:

  • Balance Transfers
  • Cash Advances
  • ATM Cash Disbursements
  • Money Transfers
  • Truck Stop Transactions <- can someone explain this one to me?!
  • Gaming Transactions, Finance Charges, Fees, and purchases of other cash equivalents, etc.

To qualify you must:

  • Be a USAA member
  • Have a USAA checking account with direct deposits of at least $1,000 a month

Bottom Line

Therefore qualifying for this USAA cash back credit card is not necessarily simple. However, a card offering 2.5% cash back is definitely worth looking into if you qualify. As a bonus USAA is well known for their great rates on insurance, customer service, loans, etc. Of course you can get 3% cash back with the Discover it Miles Card but only in year 1. Otherwise take a look at the Citi Double Cash Back Card for 2% back if you’re looking for a cash back card and cannot qualify for USAA.

The above offer is also listed as an online pilot with limited availability so make sure to take advantage of this now if you can!

Are there better cash back cards out there? Anyone else wish they could join USAA after hearing such great things?
